Have you ever tried to tell yourself “it’s not real” in your inner voice?

I should probably be careful about sharing this, but, whatever, I’m a reckless monk. Have all the secrets all the time.

it’s like time travel. It’s not real.

Of course you will either slip into the foamy nothingness of Venus’s shell (where’d that come from?), or go back to thinking it’s real.

To jaunt a little, what is the “REAL” value of computer parts?

Nothing is real. Nothing lasts forever. No pain lasts forever, no pleasure lasts forever.

I think I’m onto something whoooooop, never mind nothing’s real, almost got me!!

I guess I’ll just ask you this:

Is eternal pleasure or pain possible? Is there relief in neutrality? Where does beauty and love fit into all this? Choice? Humility? Gratitude?

What do you feel NOW, and is it valid?

In a pious context, what does letting go mean? Letting go of worldly passions? Letting go of giving up? Can we conjure good feelings without precursors?

Where does fairness and objectivity go into all this?

Does competition actually bring out the best in people? Obviously collusion isn’t really competition so it doesn’t count. What does competition bring to the table in your area of expertise?

Not sure what you mean. Fairness is an abstraction is one of my favorite quotes from one of Jason's teachers.

I am not really that competitive except maybe against myself. For example when we play bocci ball I have a much better time and I do a better job when I am not focused on "beating the other team" and more about just making absolutely beautiful plays/tosses. I also enjoy others' well done work so I don't really know if "winning'' is all that much of a motivation when I feel great about when others do well too in playing bocce. I am all YEAH! NICE TOSS! I mean yes there is a competitive edge that but for me its all in good fun. I think for me cooperative unity is more attractive especially in group efforts like dance. I am probably no fun to play against unless you enjoy the hilarity of my less than atheletic efforts at times.

For me letting go has to do with first acceptance of my life and it's creations. Can I be in awareness of how what I have made has been perfect for me and my story? I did it. I had my underpinning reasons for doing it. And this letting go of feeling vicitmized by circumstances is going to eliminate resistance to something better.

It does not mean letting go of desire. It means becoming responsible for my thoughts and creations and life ultimately. I have at times let go of worldly possessions if that's what the dream is clearly calling for and at times let go of struggling to let go. Feeling good and generating feelings of feeling good in all capacities is part of the true imagination exercises for me. Figuring out what feels good to me but it's usually not hard to figure out. It's a natural expression. What/where my excitement is and being honest or letting go of that which is not in that sphere or if its changed.

Becoming aware of feeling that unlimitedness boundless playful feeling.

I also wanted to say thank you Calvin for starting these conversations and idea explorations.

More to come! You're welcome! Can we talk about imitation and mimicry?

What is enlightenment? What is the Holy Ghost? What are Satori and Atman? Which one of the Buddha enlightenment stories are true? From a more modern perspective, does The Singularity have anything to do with enlightenment? Since all of this is Mind, can the whole thing be enlightened?
