I just wanted to include some fantastic exercises that have been wonderful to rebuild and keep the vital forces topped up. They are only 10 to 20 minutes long and really don't we all have that much time to spare?

When Molly came to visit for the Solstice Gathering I saw her in the yard doing Qi exercises with her laptop and I thought that was so dynamite I went looking for some free online videos.

Great for starting out in the morning! Light and easy and wakes you up.

This one is for really building up some core strength. I present the 8 Brocades!

Anyone up for some Shaolin Kung Fu monk exercises?

Yet another good looking Qi Gong video

This one is a standing Qi gong- Part 1-5

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zau5-c6_-TU

Part 6-11

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrAl6neHHNU

This one is for sitting for anyone who is recovering from illness or has trouble standing for long. They are sitting in lotus position but just adapt that pose to a chair sitting upright.

I have noticed a kind of synergy in development of my vital energy and the alchemy. What I mean by this is simply by utilizing both tools in activation together they seem to amplify each other. Like everything you have to just do it to know it. If we are centered and balanced and have more vital energy then I think this helps us perform our personal and group missions to help bring out the best in others. :)

Walking is the best exercise on the planet. It does so many things it's remarkable, including esoteric things. But if I were to ever try to get consistent with anything other than that, it would be the Eight Brocades mixed with the Five Tibetan Rites. If you decide to add the Tibetan Rites, point me to your instruction source so I can see if they're instructing it correctly.

The movements are all correct, but it's weird how infrequently they include a very important piece. That's this. With every movement, as you draw in your breath and are moving into the finishing of the pose, you are contracting your sphincter. At the same time your neck is at its most "thrown back" position, your sphincter is clenched tight. You hold the position for a moment, and then relax the sphincter as you get back to the starting position. The only one this is different is on Movement 2, when you're flat on your back. In that position, you're to start with the sphincter contracted, and relax it as you raise your legs.

The effect is sending the internal alchemy up and down your spine. When the neck is thrown back, the energy is moving downward in the body, to be stopped at the root by the contracted sphincter, which is just a Kegel exercise. As you return to the position where your chin is against your chest, which is with every movement but for Movement 1, the internal flow is heading back up through the spine and getting stopped at the throat. Moving it up and down builds it, and it doesn't find escape through either the crown or the root.

Here's the best Eight Brocades I've ever come across, for me:
